Construction manager selected for first phase of $3.7bn convention centre expansion

Trinity Alliance – a joint venture led by Aecom Hunt and Turner Construction Company – has won the role of construction manager for the first phase of the $3.7 billion expansion of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, USA.
As construction manager at risk, Trinity Alliance will oversee pre-construction, construction, and related demolition services during the first phase.
The City of Dallas began developing a masterplan for the construction of a new and expanded convention centre in 2021.
The new facility will total 2.1 million sq ft, including 750,000 sq ft of exhibit space, 180,000 sq ft of office space, and 105,000 sq ft of ballroom. There will be a new walkable area in the Concention Centre District, along with restaurant and entertainment experiences, and a multimodal station for public transportation.
The joint venture comprises several other partners including BOWA Construction, Core, CMCI, EJ Smith Construction, GCC Enterprises, Pienado Construction, and Source Partners.
Other companies including Acari Management Group, Byrne Construction Services, Copeland Contracting Company, LeVis Consulting Group, Mahuya Industries, Othon, RM Chin & Associates, and STL Engineers are also involved.
