CE Barometer for March: Over 50% report business levels are better than a year ago

Premium Content

The CE Barometer survey for March was undertaken during the first three weeks of April.

Construction professionals across Europe participated in this month’s CE Barometer survey.

To begin with a positive note, the overall climate figure for this month’s barometer has risen, somewhat significantly, from 32.4% last month to over half this month (52.3%).

Although Q1 has been challenging to gauge, with some reports indicating improvement while others remain the same, there is hope that the industry is finding ways to adapt and overcome these challenges.

Regarding business levels in March, the majority of respondents (54.5%) reported no change compared to February, while 31.8% reported an increase.

Looking ahead, a balance of responses predicts either no change or an improvement in business levels within the next year. This is an increase in responses from last month where only 29.4% saw business levels improving this time next year.

This month, over half of respondents, said that business levels are better than they were a year ago. This is positive news, and it is clear that the industry is beginning to adapt or overcome the challenges we are currently facing.

Looking ahead 12 months, results demonstrate that those who believe that business will be better (36.4%) are on par with those who think business will be the same (36.4%). This is certainly more optimistic than last month with a reduction in responses from those who think business will be worse.

The March report shows clear signs of how far the industry has come in a year. Despite not knowing what the future will hold, it is positive that many companies are reporting better business levels this year compared to last.
