Case expands 20th mini excavator to range with new model
15 July 2025

Case Construction Equipment has added a new 3.9-tonne diesel-powered model to its mini excavator line-up.
The CX38D is the 20th machine in the company’s compact excavator range and sits above the existing CX35D in size and performance.
Built on a wider undercarriage and weighing 430kg more than the CX35D, the CX38D promises improved stability and greater digging reach, thanks to a dipper arm that is 200mm longer. Its dozer blade has a float function, making it easier for operators to level ground and clear the site. A 250mm longer arm and heavier counterweight are available as options, alongside a six-way dozer blade.
The zero tail swing design is paired with load-sensing hydraulics and joysticks. Case has also introduced a new hydraulic architecture to boost breakout force, lift capacity and upper carriage swing. Two options normally only available on larger models, include electro-proportional flow control for the first auxiliary service and electro-proportional engine rpm control with auto-idle functionality.
The machine features a full-size cab with revised air conditioning layout, new footrests and increased internal storage. The model also includes anti-theft technology and an upgraded digital display.
For servicing, the cab tilts forward for access to major components, and wide engine covers simplify maintenance. The machine is fitted with an integrated telematics module and is compatible with Case’s connected services, including remote diagnostics, maintenance alerts and fleet management through the myCASEConstruction app.
The CX38D meets EU Stage V emissions requirements without the need for exhaust after-treatment.
