M&T Expo 2021 Dates for M&T Expo in Brazil are still to be announced.

Messe München Brazil has postponed the 11th edition of its M&T Expo 2021 due to the impact of Coronavirus.

Scheduled to be held in São Paulo from the 5 to 8 July this year, the South American construction and mining event has now been pushed back to 2022, with dates to be confirmed.

Messe München Brazil said that, with Coronavirus vaccination programmes around the world still in the early stages, travel restrictions were one of the main reasons for the postponement.

Rolf Pickert, Messe München’s CEO for Brazil, said, “The decision is in line with our clients, partners and entities in the sector, and is based on the principle of always providing the ideal conditions for conducting business and exchanging knowledge, as well as making new connections.

“Considering the importance of the M&T Expo, and the engagement the show generates among exhibitors and visitors, the smartest decision is to hold this event next year, in the hope that a large proportion of the global population will have been immunised.”

Run in collaboration with Sobratema, the Brazilian association for construction and mining equipment, M&T Expo is held every three years. First staged 26 years ago, the event became part of the Bauma Network in 2017 and its 2018 edition generated BRL 2.7 billion (US$497.5 million) in new business.

Afonso Mamede, president of Sobratema, said, “We are experiencing a challenging situation, which requires resilience, courage and perseverance from the entire sector in relation to the safety and health of people and businesses.

“Therefore, holding the show on a new date, when there will be a significant advance in immunisation campaigns in Brazil and around the world, will benefit visitors, exhibitors and partners.”
