Bonfiglioli partners with CVT Corp

Italian manufacturer Bonfiglioli has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with CVT Corp to produce its patented mCVT technology.

CVT Corp manufactures mechanical Continuously Variable Transmissions (mCVTs) for the off-highway market. The company’s mCVT patented technology is the result of more than 15 years of development and was said to offer off-highway manufacturers a scalable solution that provides operational ease, engine downsizing opportunities and overall vehicle performance improvements in the range of between 20 and 30%.

Under the new agreement, the production of the Ecomec 150, used in the Skyjack Ecoshift telehandler, will be transferred, along with CVT Corp’s current sales pipeline. Commercial volumes are expected to be produced by the beginning of 2020.

The two companies will also be working together to develop a full line of transmissions based on the currently available mCVT.
