Doosan subsidiary Bobcat has showcased a limited edition version of its E16 at Intermat to celebrate 25 years in the compact excavator market.

The 1.6 tonne E16 mini excavator features new exterior styling together with improvements within the cab, including the introduction of ergonomic travel levers and pedals.

Doosan Europe, Middle East and Africa business unit director Tom Raes said Bobcat's presence in the mini excavator market was growing.

"We've grown to be one of the top five players in the compact machinery market and now have 13 machines in the 0 to 8 tonne range. With the new E Series, we invested a lot in ensuring the machines operated smoothly without losing speed or power, and we've had fantastic feedback from the market."

Mr Raes said Bobcat was looking into the development of more weight options to further expand its compact excavator range. "The next machine will be aimed at the low-to-mid weight range. Our concept is to offer as much choice as possible."
