Bobcat has launched the new HB1380 hydraulic breaker, as a replacement for the B1400 model.

With the introduction of the HB1380 model, Bobcat has completed the company's HB range of silenced hydraulic breakers for use on its compact loaders and mini and midi excavators.

The company said the HB1380 has an operating weight of 385 kg, a CIMA energy rating of 700 Joules and can be mounted on a wide range of Bobcat carriers from the 442 midi-excavator; S220, S250 and S300 skid-steer loaders and T250 and T300 compact tracked loaders to the A300 all-wheel steer loader.

A spokesman for Bobcat said, "To maximise efficiency, the HB1380 provides a match in terms of hydraulic capacities, performance and dimensions with all of these Bobcat carriers and has been designed to work with flow rates from 65 to 120 l/min."

Providing a blow rate from 780 to 1030 bpm for work on soft ground and a blow rate of 900 to 1230 bpm when working on hard ground, the HB1380 has an impact force of 1152 Joules, Bobcat said. The company added that the breaker also has a tool diameter of 85 mm and a tool working length of 432 mm.

The spokesman said, "As well as fewer moving parts, the internal design of the HB1380 breaker also excludes tie rods. As a result, the breaker can be quickly disassembled, without the need for special tooling."

He added the breaker also incorporates an effective soundproofing system, whereby the striking assembly is held top and bottom by a suspension system that is not in contact with the outer cylindrical housing.

"Another innovative feature is a patented treated steel ring 'clip' system, which retains the bushing of the tool and protects the greasing system. This ring is easily removed with a multi-purpose tool supplied with the breaker, to instantly release the sliding bushing and the tool," he said.
