Black & Veatch to design $540m Arkansas water treatment facilities expansion

Black & Veatch provided the Orange County Sanitation District (California) with construction services for a project that developed a 60 million gallons per day activated sludge treatment train

Engineer Black & Veatch has won a deal to design a water treatment facilities expansion programme with a capital cost of $540 million for Beaver Water District (BWD) in northwest Arkansas.

The expansion programme comes in response to significant population growth in the area and increasing demand for water.

The project will expand capacity of supply and treatment from 140 million gallons per day (MGD) to 220 MGD, rehabilitate aging infrastructure, and expand water storage, pump stations, power generation, pipelines and dewatering facilities by 2032.
