Airport connection for Santiago’s metro
27 June 2008
The light rail line would connect the airport terminal to the Pajaritos metro station in the west of the capital.
The US$ 90 million link will form part of the Urbanya urbanization project, which was recently approved by the metropolitan region's government. Urbanya is supported by Santa Cruz, Enersis, and investment groups Hurtado Vicuña and CB (Praderas).
Urbanya requires an estimated US$ 1.4 billion of investment spread over a 30-year period. The project includes housing, basic services and a road network parallel to the Ruta 68 highway.
