The Africa’s Finance Corporation (AFC) has disbursed €75 million in funds to the government of Angola to support the construction of 186 priority bridges and upgrades to the national roads network.

The money comes from an €85 million sovereign facility arranged and financed by the AFC, which is a multilateral financial institution created by African sovereign states.

The funds are part of a broader €381.5 million package to strengthen Angola’s road and bridge infrastructure.

Other partners in the deal include Portuguese civil engineering firm Conduril, which is the main EPC contractor, as well as US-based bridge supplier Acrow. The US Export-Import Bank is leading the export credit agency tranche of the funding.

Samaila Zubairu, president & CEO of Africa Finance Corporation, said, “This disbursement demonstrates AFC’s unique capacity to structure and fund impactful infrastructure projects that address critical national priorities and accelerate economic transformation,” he added.
