3000 and counting for Soilmec

Soilmec, part of the Trevi Group of companies, has just celebrated the production of its 3000th foundation rig.

The unit, an SR-90, which the company considers its “flagship” model, was painted in a special livery and has been delivered to a customer in Spain. A 105 tonne hydraulic rig, the SR90 is mounted on a Soilmec base carrier and is suitable for cased bored piles, with the casing driven directly through the rotary head, or, as an option, by oscillation, CFA, CSP/CAP piles and soil mixing. It can be converted to work with a hydraulic grab for diaphragm walls.

other features include a maximum torque of 334 kN, a two gear rotary table, crowd wnich monitroing, central lubrication and Soilmec's Drilling Mate system, a touch screen that monitors and controls operations. GSM/GPRS data transfer is also available as an option.
