Bengt has over 15 years of decommissioning experience and is the Senior Vice President of Decommissioning at Aker Solutions.

Prior to his current role, he served as President of AF Offshore Decom for 13 years, and under his leadership, AF Offshore Decom successfully removed and recycled a total of 400,000 tonnes of oil and gas installations.

Over the years Bengt has played an important role in transforming the Vats environmental yard into one of Europe’s most modern decommissioning sites and, previously, also contributed to the development of the company’s offshore activities.

He also has significant experience as a director within procurement, administration, projects, and as an advisor for startups.

Bengt holds an Executive MBA within Shipping, Offshore and Finance from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and Bachelor of Business Administration from BI Norwegian Business School, Oslo.

Leila Steed, WDS Programme Organiser, said: “The offshore decommissioning market is going to see significant growth over the coming years and the speciliast requirements and processes demanded by the industry are of key interest to contractors.

“I’m incredibly excited and grateful to be able to have Bengt as our of speakers this year. His insight and expertise will be of enormous benefit to many in the demolition, decontamination and recycling industry.”
