Well-known in the global asbestos industry, Yvonne is the head of Waterman Legal Consultancy, which offers legal advice on asbestos and other cutting-edge liabilities.

She is a frequent speaker at many international events and her interest in asbestos started when she began researching her comparative Ph.D. on employer’s liability law for occupational accidents and diseases, an interest which she maintains to this day.

Leila Steed, Programme Organiser for the World Demolition Summit, said: “I met Yvonne at the European Demolition Association’s Annual Convention, and was blown away by her keen intellect and expert legal background.

“Dealing with hazardous materials such as asbestos is a massive issue and one that requires extensive knowledge from a range of fields. But while a number of countries are increasing regulation on asbestos handling to make worksites safer, others seem wholly confused and are pushing different guidelines that can at times conflict with one another.

“This makes it incredibly difficult for demolition, decontamination and remediation specialists, particularly when it comes to legalities, so I’m absolutely thrilled to have Yvonne as part of this year’s Summit. Her expertise and insight into the latest EU regulations will be enormously helpful to many. “
