SmartEquip has released a new version of its e-commerce platform to allow equipment dealers, fleet owners and distributors to set up a branded, digital parts shop quickly and easily.

Described as a “a major enhancement to its digital parts commerce product”, the e-Commerce Store 2.0 will enable users to manage inventory, product support, sales and customers in one self-service platform.

SmartEquip, which is a sister business to Ritchie Bros and Rouse Services within RB Global, said the new platform represents “a complete overhaul of the previous user experience”.

New features include an admin tool that allows users to quickly develop a white label, branded site; a tool that lets customers create an account and build a fleet profile; and the use of “smart-cart” technology offering automatic pricing and availability information.

In addition, a data connector allows existing SmartEquip users to extend their connection to brands on the network, providing pricing and inventory data directly to customers.

SmartEquip CEO Fernando Pinera said the business was “raising the bar with an e-commerce experience that combines speed, convenience and an intuitive user experience, while also providing a seamless integration with SmartEquip’s Network of OEM’s and its powerful parts catalogue library in a fully branded environment.

“This new platform is packed with features to help dealers, fleets and distributors on the SmartEquip Network to drive increased store traffic and engage potential customers.”

Matt Ackley, chief digital officer at RB Global, said; “We were able to listen to customers during the beta program and have introduced a slate of new features based on their feedback.

“This is just another example of how we are expanding the scope of our platforms to meet the needs of our customers across the industry.”
