Tunisia wind farm

08 November 2010

Tunisia is looking at new and cleaner ways of producing energy and it’s hoping its first wind farm will be one of many in the country, and across the region. Sidi Daoud’s 26 wind turbines will produce 95000 MW hours of electricity a year, replacing electricity normally generated from fossil fuel-fired power plants. The project will prevent annual emissions of about 50000 tonnes of dangerous greenhouse gases-the equivalent of taking ten thousand cars off the road.
