During construction drilled excavations are vulnerable to voids, bulges, cage shifts and cracks. PIT can be used to identify major defects.
A large structure’s foundation is dependent on the quality of the piles, or drilled excavations, upon which the structure is built. Assessing the integrity of an excavation is integral to the success and safety of the construction project.
Excavations can be assessed for concrete quality with the Pile Integrity Tester (PIT-Q) which uses pulse echo or transient response methods to identify major cracks, necking, soil inclusions or voids. PIT can also be used to determine unknown pile lengths for most concrete or wood foundations.

The PIT-Q is available in three versions: velocity only, force and velocity, or two velocity channels. The system includes PIT-W software which post-processes testing data and generates reports. Optional PIT-Professional reporting software allows for advanced modeling and analysis of data.
