A new digital service, Volvo Site Operations, from Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) is changing how customers monitor and follow-up on production by consolidating data across brands.

Designed for quarrying and aggregates customers managing large, mixed fleets, Volvo Site Operations is a digital solution that provides real-time actionable insights to help optimize the management of job sites.

Azadeh Fazl Mashhadi, Service Offer Owner at Volvo CE, said: “On today’s fast-paced job sites, site managers are juggling the need to increase productivity and efficiency, but also prioritize safety and reduce CO₂ emissions. Data is a key enabler for change. Volvo Site Operations integrates supplier data across all machines and assets, like crushers and weighbridges, regardless of brand, into a single, powerful view of operations.”

By consolidating data from all machines and site assets into a single, cohesive, real-time platform, it empowers site managers to make informed decisions that boost productivity and safety and reduce their environmental impact.

Mixed fleets, unified insights

Machine operators are provided with an intuitive tablet that collects geoposition data. This information is integrated with machine and productivity data gathered through a cloud-based solution and consolidated into a single view. Site managers can monitor machine performance, track material flow, assess CO₂ emissions and productivity across each process, pinpointing areas for improvement.

Measuring critical parameters in the production flow reveals insights for streamlining tasks and optimizing material movement, delivering productivity increases of 10-20%. Production dashboards replace paper-based tracking or guesswork, real-time alerts warn of potential faulty dumps, saving time and money, while automating data collection and reporting reduces administrative burden by up to 80%.

Elevating site safety

Volvo Site Operations uses advanced geo-fencing and asset positioning to allow real-time tracking of machines and assets, boosting situational awareness and helping operators make safer decisions. Alerts notify of speeding or unauthorized entry zones and changes to speed limits or restricted zones are instantly communicated, improving job site safety for everyone.

Improving fuel efficiency and reducing carbon

Volvo Site Operations enables potential fuel savings and CO₂ emission reductions of 10-15%. The map, together with real-time positioning, optimizes traffic conditions, reducing queues and waiting times to improve productivity and lower fuel consumption. Accurate CO₂ measurements for all machines and assets provides insights for fleet optimization. By leveraging data, actionable steps can be taken to significantly reduce emissions.

Volvo Site Operations is available to customers in selected European countries and Australia.
