Trackunit launches access management solution

Trackunit has unveiled a new access management solution that it says will enable fleet owners to control who can operate machines.

According to the Denmark-based IoT provider, the second-generation platform will give fleet owners “complete control” of machine access and allow them to safeguard machines by stopping unauthorised use and damage.

Through the system, users can link the access control of the equipment to digital keys on the Trackunit On mobile app, thus ensuring only certified and validated operators can gain access to equipment, adding another layer of security in the process.

Lærke Ullerup, Trackunit’s chief product and marketing officer said, “This solution ensures that only those who are certified and have the validation to use machinery like mobile elevated working platforms can actually gain access via digital keys on the Trackunit On mobile app.

“This has obvious safety implications and will enable fleet owners to demonstrate that they are complying with legislation designed to reduce incidents on the job site. The era of the zero-incident construction site moves a lot closer with this launch

According to the company, other benefits include lower cost implications of site injuries, a simplified process of managing access and the removal of “administration-heavy manual processes.”

Trackunit had previously worked with IPAF on its ePal app, which limits access on mobile elevated working platforms and other machinery. In 2022, IPAF reported a 19% reduction in incidents among reporting members in 2022.

According to Ullerup, the newest launch from Trackunit will “complement that work and see incidents progressively come down over the coming years”
