CEA partners with globalbridge to connect young talent with industry opportunities

The Construction Equipment Association (CEA) is working with globalbridge, a digital platform designed to help young people showcase their talents and connect with employers.

The initiative aims to address the ongoing skills shortage in the construction sector by offering students a new way to present their abilities beyond traditional academic results.

globalbridge provides students with the opportunity to create multimedia profiles featuring projects, videos, and achievements, giving a more comprehensive view of their skills. The platform also supports schools by offering data-driven insights to improve student development programmes.

For employers, it provides a tool to access a wider talent pool and promote workforce diversity.

Jacqui Miller-Charlton MBE, part of Miller Groundbreaking, describes globalbridge as a “game-changer” for connecting young people with meaningful career paths.

Miller Groundbreaking is the first CEA member company to integrate the platform into its recruitment process, with hopes that others in the sector will follow suit.

The construction sector continues to face a significant skills shortage, with many employers struggling to find suitable candidates. Viki Bell, Director of Operations at the CEA, sees globalbridge as a practical solution, she says, “The skills shortage in our industry is a challenge we cannot ignore. globalbridge offers a practical and innovative solution by connecting employers with young talent and giving students a chance to shine in ways that go beyond traditional grades.”

By introducing students to career opportunities early on, the platform aims to attract more young people to industries like construction, where awareness of available roles can often be limited.

To further promote awareness, the CEA will host a webinar on 25 February 2025, featuring Jacqui Miller-Charlton MBE, to discuss how globalbridge is connecting young people with career opportunities.
