BharatBenz, an Indian subsidiary of Daimler Truck, has launched its new BharatBenz Construction and Mining range of trucks with new variants from the HX and Torqshift ranges.

The company puts forward that availability of these heavy-duty trucks will help large contractors to update aging fleets. According to BharatBenz the mining and construction equipment sector in India is set to enter a period of growth, increasing from $16 billion to $45 billion by 2030.

As part of the vehicle development program more than 150 trucks were deployed across customer trials at some of the country’s most demanding mining sites.

The new BharatBenz Construction and Mining lineup includes the 2828C HX and 3532C HX models, which have been engineered for durability, fuel efficiency and drivability. The trucks are available with two configurations, 280 hp with 1,100 Nm of torque and 320 hp with 1,250 Nm.

Features include a ‘unitized’ front axle that incorporates components of the wheel end system in to a single unit to help simplify maintenance, a driver monitoring system and hill hold assist.

According to BharatBenz the 2828C HX can operate fully-loaded on a grade up to 60% and the 3532C can do the same up to 54%.

Also included are the 3832CM and 3532CM from the Torqueshift series. These are fitted with an automatic transmission with ‘zero lag’ performance, while the engine delivers improved fuel efficiency.

There is also a ready-mix concrete (RMC) solution. This uses a 2828C RMC variant powered by an OM 926 BSVI OBD II engine delivering 280 hp and 1,100 Nm of torque that has nine cubic meters of material capacity.
