Vinci's 2008 sales up +10%

Vinci has announced full year Group sales of € 33,5 billion (US$ 43 billion), up +10% from 2007.

Fourth-quarter revenue rose +2% to € 8,8 billion (US$ 11,32 billion), up from € 8,6 billion (US$ 11 billion) a year earlier.

Vinci's Construction division had sales of € 4,18 billion (US$ 5,36 billion) in the fourth quarter, up +2.7% on the same period last year. Revenue for 2008 rose +15.1% to € 15,71 billion (US$ 20.2 billion).

Outside France, Vinci Construction's revenue rose +20% to €7,5 billion (US$ 9,63 billion), which reflects the effect of its acquisitions in 2007 (specialist foundations contractor Solétanche-Bachy; oil and gas infrastructure specialist Entrepose Contracting; and nuclear power services company Nuvia [formerly Nukem] and 2008 (the UK house-builder Taylor Woodrow).

Vinci Concessions, which builds and operates transport infrastructure, increased sales revenue by +4,5% in the fourth quarter to € 1,11 billion (US$ 1.42 billion). Revenues for the year rose +4,5% to € 4,79 billion (US$ 6,15 billion).

Sales at Vinci's Eurovia, which builds and maintains roads and motorways, fell -1,1% in the fourth quarter to € 2,17 billion (US$ 2.79 billion). Sales for the full year rose +6,2% to € 8,18 billion (US$ 10,5 billion).
