Vinci consortium wins € 1 billion Russian toll road
28 July 2009
North-West Concession Company (NWCC), a consortium led by Vinci Concessions, has won the contract to build the first section of a toll road between Moscow and St Petersburg.
NWCC will design, finance build and operate a 43 km section of motorway, designed to alleviate congestion on the existing M10 link between Sheremetyevo International Airport, Moscow's main airport, and the city centre. The total construction cost is put at € 1 billion.
The concession contract has a 30 year term, with the option to extend it for a further five years. Construction is expected to start in the first half of next year, once finance has been put in place, and is due to last three years.
