A Guam-based subsidiary of US construction contractor Tutor Perini, has won a $222 million deal for construction work at the Tinian International Airport, Tinian, in the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands.
Black Micro Corp, a unit of Black Construction Corporation, will undertake the work for Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Pacific.
The project involves the construction of a cargo pad with taxiway extension, fuel tanks with receipt pipeline and hydrant system, roads, and a maintenance support facility, under the Asia Pacific Stability Initiative.
The contract contains three unexercised options, which if exercised, would increase the cumulative contract value to nearly $226 million.
Work is set to start immediately with completion due for October 2026.
