Turner Construction is moving forward with a $399 million project to expand C Concourse at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, after the Port of Seattle Commission approved the budget earlier this month.

The expansion will increase the size of C Concourse from 80,000 square feet (7,432 sq m) to over 226,000 square feet (21,000 sq m).

Construction will begin in early 2024 and is expected to be completed in 2027.

The project will add dining and retail options as well as offer amenities such as an interfaith prayer and meditation room and a nursing suite.

The concourse will also be home to a 20,000 square foot (1858 sq m) Alaska Airlines lounge.

It will employ fossil-fuel-free systems for heating, tenant hot water, and cooking. Sustainable and efficient features will conserve energy and water use including a rooftop solar array, electrochromic glazing on windows, and water efficient fixtures.

“We understand the importance of this project and the difference we can make by implementing sustainable building strategies into the expansion of this terminal,” said Bill Ketcham, vice president and general manager, Turner Construction Company.
