29 March 2011

Strabag's German subsidiary, Züblin, has secured a € 200 million contract to build a high rise tower in the financial district of Frankfurt, Germany.

US real estate company Tishman Speyer and German asset manager Commerz Real commissioned the TaunusTurm, which will consist a 170 m office tower with 40 floors and a 62 m residential tower with 16 floors, connected by a six-storey perimeter block.

The tower has been designed by German architects Gruber & Kleine-Kraneburg and will be located on a 5500 m2 plot of land near Taunusanlage park, in the heart of Frankfurt's central financial district. Featuring a gross floor area of 103000 m², the building will also contain four underground floors. Construction is due to start in April this year, and the project is scheduled for completion at the end of 2013.
