Skanska to build Stockholm tunnel

02 July 2015

Skanska has been chosen by the Swedish Transport Administration as contractor for the construction of the southern connection of the Stockholm Bypass tunnel in Sweden – a contract worth about SEK1.3 billion (€139.17 million).

The project covers about 350m of tunnel with two lanes in each direction, southbound connections and a new interchange.

Construction work will start in the spring of 2016, with an expected completion date in 2021.

In May, Skanska president and CEO Johan Karlström said, “The market for large civil projects in Sweden is improving although the landscape is competitive.”
