Ritchie Bros. has opened a new equipment storage yard in Mullingar, County Westmeath, its first such facility in Ireland.

The company said the yard, located in Business Park, will provide sellers in Ireland with local consignment options while giving access to its international auction network.

It said assets stored at the site will be included in Ritchie Bros.’ UK auctions without the need for cross-border transport.

The facility is intended to help reduce logistics costs for Irish consignors and forms part of Ritchie Bros.’ efforts to lower carbon emissions by cutting transport distances.

Shane Eshuis, vice president operations, Ritchie Bros., said the location would help simplify the consignment process for Irish customers. “Strategically located just one hour from Dublin and an hour and a half from Galway, the facility makes it easier and more cost-effective for sellers to tap into our global marketplace—while ensuring a smooth, efficient journey from yard to auction,” he said.

Duncan Ainscough, head of sales, Ritchie Bros., added, “With our storage yard in Mullingar and Ritchie Bros.’ decades of expertise in the used equipment market, we’re well equipped to support Irish businesses across the construction, agriculture, and transport sectors.

“By combining local convenience with global reach, we help sellers move equipment faster and achieve the best possible returns—through a simple, reliable process. We’re providing a direct path to global demand, backed by the trusted Ritchie Bros. selling experience.

The Mullingar yard will be supported by two Territory Managers. Tom Walsh, who covers Northern Ireland and the North and has 22 years of experience at Ritchie Bros., and Brien Daly, who will cover the South and West and brings more than two decades of experience in the rental and auction sectors.

Equipment consigned in Mullingar will be included in upcoming UK auctions scheduled to take place on 25–26 June, 13–14 August, 24–25 September, and 10–11 December.
