Bosch Rexroth and Dana have signed an agreement to form a joint venture operation to develop and manufacture off-highway transmissions.

The JV will operate from Arco in Italy and manufacture hydro-mechanical variable transmission systems.

Sales engineer for construction equipment at Rexroth, Dominique Guyon said on the opening day of the Bauma exhibition, "We are hydraulic experts and Dana are mechanical experts, so this JV is an ideal fit to further develop hydro-mechanical transmissions for off-highway appications."

Chief technical officer at Dana, George Constand said, "We are excited about the opportunities that this combination presents.

"Together, Dana and Rexroth offer a broad range of complementary skills, which will enable the JV to deliver a unique range of advanced transmissions.
