Project update: Hinkley Point C prepares to install ‘the heart’ of the new nuclear power station

Hinkley Point C has released a new video showing the progress of installing the core of the new nuclear power station.

The video, presented by Hinkley Point C’s nuclear island director Simon Parsons, takes viewers behind the scenes as around 12,000 people work on building and equipping the power station.

It gives a glimpse of the final stages of the tunnels being constructed beneath the seabed to supply cooling water to the station. The video also highlights the installation of miles of cables, pipes, and equipment, as well as the 50-metre-tall Turbine Hall, which will house the world’s largest Arabelle turbine.
