Potain cranes are looking down on one of the most prestigious sites in India, in the shape of the Magnolia development in the city of Gurgaon, south west of Delhi. DFL Laing O’Rourke, the main contractor, is operating six cranes across the site, two MC205B and four MC115B units.

“We purchased all six from the Manitowoc factory especially for this project,” said Graham Lloyd, VP of plant and equipment at DLF Laing O’Rourke. “We have good experience with the Potain brand, and with this being a high profile project in an important area we needed to ensure that everything’s perfect. The Potain cranes help us achieve that,” continued Mr. Lloyd.

The cranes are working with jibs of between 50 and 60 m and are currently lifting steel rebar, concrete buckets and formwork, with the heaviest loads being approximately 5 tonnes. All models are being ‘climbed’ throughout the project and at completion the tallest will stand at over 110 m.
