Penetrating permafrost

Russia’s Gaz group previewed its new 27,5 tonne ET-26FS excavator at the ConExpo Russia show in September. Certification testing is scheduled for the coming months with the first pilot batch to be available in 2009.
The new machine replaces the company’s EO 4225A-07 model. “The ET-26FS differs substantially from its predecessor,” said a company spokesperson. “Main changes are in the design of the superstructure, a modernised boom fixing point, which is now designed for the kinematic scheme already employed in the ET26 and ET30 excavators, and a modular cab with panoramic windows, adjustable steering column and joystick enhancements.”
Designed for construction, quarry operations and excavation of soil, rock and permafrost up to a lump size of 40 cm, the ET-26FS joined the EK-20 and EK14-60 excavators on show at the Crocus Expo venue on Moscow’s MKAD ring road. Presently, Gaz group only has plans to market the machine in the Russian Federation.
