The 40,000m² facility will consolidate the company’s local operations into a single site, combining offices, a research and development centre and a factory for network automation products.
Peab said the campus is designed to meet LEED Gold certification standards.
The turnkey project, procured under a partnering model, follows an initial optimisation phase and will now move into full construction. Work is scheduled to begin in October 2025, with completion expected by December 2027.
Hint of history
Västerås has a long history in Sweden’s power engineering industry, dating back to ASEA (General Swedish Electrical Limited Company) and later ABB, before Hitachi acquired ABB’s power grids business in 2020.
