Patrick Olney named CEO of Volvo CE

Patrick Olney, executive vice president and head of operations at Volvo Construction Equipment, is to take on the role of president and CEO of the unit on 1 May.
Mr Olney replaces Olof Persson, who has been promoted to CEO of Volvo group. Mr Persson will replace Leif Johansson when he retires in September this year, and will take on the role of deputy CEO from 1 May.
"I am very pleased with Mr Olney as my successor. He has a long and extensive experience in the construction Equipment industry and has been instrumental in putting Volvo CE's new strategy in place," Mr Persson said.
Mr Olney was chief financial officer of Volvo CE from 2001 to 2004, and was then president of Volvo motor graders until becoming president of Volvo road machinery in 2007. He has been executive vice president and head of operations since 2009.
