Italian manufacturer Palazzani Industrie to expand its production capabilities by adding a new factory to its operations, following a steady rise in spider lift sales over the past few years.

The company, which is based to the east of Milan in Paderno in the province of Brescia, said the decision reflects a strategic plan to further grow the company both in “vertical and horizontal terms”.

While Palazzani’s existing manufacturing plant is a 11,000m2 facility that comprises 6,000m2 of indoor production space, its new facility will provide it with an additional 7,000m2 of covered space - which could effectively double the company’s spider lift production capacity.

The new facility is already under construction close to the access specialist’s Paderno headquarters and will feature “the most modern production technologies”. According to the company, which last year debuted what is said to be the world’s largest spider lift, this will make its new facility a digital factory with an “Industry 4.0 perspective”.

The increase in Palazzani’s manufacturing capabilities is also thought to reflect the growth of aerial platform market in the North American region, where the company’s equipment distributor Spimerica has experienced an increase in customer interest.

So far this year the distributor has sold over 100 of Palazzani’s spider lifts in the region. According to Spimerica, many customers are specifically seeking to acquire machines from Europe’s long-established and proven brands.
