New CEO and US company listing for Holcim
30 January 2024
Global building materials and aggregates firm Holcim has announced that Miljan Gutovic will become CEO of the business from the start of May 2024 and that it plans to separate its North American business and have it operate as its own business entity.

Gutovic will succeed the current CEO Jan Jenisch, who will focus on his role as chairman and will stand for re-election at the AGM in May. The Board has also tasked Jan Jenisch with leading the planned US listing of Holcim’s North America business.
“As a civil engineer who is passionate about the construction industry, Holcim is the best company to be part of,” said Gutovic.
“With decarbonisation and advanced technologies transforming how we build, there has never been a more exciting time for our sector.”
Gutovic has been a member of the Group Executive Committee since 2018. He served as Head of the Region Middle East and Africa, followed by the Region Europe and Operational Excellence.
In a separate announcement Holcim revealed that it would list its North American business in the US with a full capital market separation. It said that this process will create the “leading pure-play building solutions company” in the region.
“With a US listing, we will unleash its full potential to be the partner of choice for our customers in one of the world’s most attractive construction markets. As we fully capitalise on the region’s infrastructure and construction boom, we will accelerate growth and unlock value for our stakeholders,” said Jan Jenisch, Chairman and CEO.
He added that the company would continue to focus on decarbonisation and mergers and acquisitions as drivers of growth.
