Merz Consulting specialises in power distribution, transmission and generation design and project delivery.

It’s the latest in a series of acquisitions that has seen contractors and consultancy firms buy up businesses that are well placed to facilitate the energy transition.

The deal will see Geoff Glazier, Merz Consulting’s managing director, and his team of experienced engineers, project managers and strategic advisors join Mott MacDonald.

Frances Badelow, Mott MacDonald’s managing director for Australia said “The acquisition of Merz Consulting brings specialised capabilities and trusted client relationships in the West Australian energy sector to our business. Combining this with our own multi-disciplinary engineering and project delivery capabilities ensures we are ideally placed to meet the increasing demands in energy transition projects across the region and globally.”

Geoff Glazier commented “Mott MacDonald’s significant global portfolio of energy transition projects provides new learning opportunities for the Merz Consulting team and access to a broader range of expertise for our existing clients. We are excited to apply these expanded capabilities to our common goal of effectively delivering the energy transition.”
