Moscow office for Dana

A Moscow office has been opened by Dana, the driveline, sealing and thermal management company, which is also introducing its latest drivetrain systems to the Russian market at the CTT/Conexpo show in the Russian capital.

The new centre, which opened last month and is the first Dana-owned office in Russia, has been created to help Russian customers by having contacts who speak the local language, and to overcome potential cross-border problems.

Nicola Tessaro, off-highway compact construction products transmission and axle product manager, said this showed Dana's serious approach to the Russian market.

The Moscow office will be run by Roman Pichugin, business development manager. Dana said the new office would help expand the company's footprint in the Russian and CIS off-highway markets, as well as better meet the evolving needs of OEMs across the region. The office will also address service parts needs in the region.

Mr Tessaro said, "Our customers are looking for spare parts, and this is a big issue for them." He added that the office would cover all Dana products, including on- and off-highway machines.

There is an existing office and service centre in St Petersburg, though this is not owned by Dana, and there are other third-party centres throughout the country.

CTT/Conexpo showcase

Meanwhile At the Moscow show, Dana is showcasing an integrated drivetrain system for 15 tonne front-end loaders, including the Spicer TZL16 powershift transmission (new to the Russian market), Spicer Model 2040 Compact Series driveshafts, and Spicer 114 industrial planetary rigid axles.

Dana said that offering higher horsepower capability, reduced maintenance, and smoother, quieter operation, the Spicer TZL16 transmission was the first in a line of powershift transmissions for front-end loaders to be produced at Dana's assembly facility in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China.

Aziz Aghili, president of Dana Off-Highway Driveline Technologies, said, "CTT is the ideal forum for Dana to highlight our focus on research and development, which produces complete drivetrain systems that improve the productivity and fuel efficiency of construction equipment and other off-highway applications.

"Our dedicated presence in Russia and the CIS will ensure that Dana is positioned to better collaborate with OEMs and the aftermarket and meet the region's growing demand for technologically advanced construction vehicles."
