The 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics (LA28) named US-based multinational software company Autodesk – which provides services to the design, engineering, construction and manufacturing industries – as its official ‘design and make’ partner for the next summer games.

The LA Games will not build any new permanent venues for the 2028 Olympics, and event organisers will rely on Autodesk for retrofitting and BIM (building information modelling) solutions for existing infrastructure.

“With no new permanent venues, smart infrastructure, and sustainable solutions, Autodesk will help Los Angeles welcome the world in a whole new way, transforming what it means to be an Olympic and Paralympic host city,” said Autodesk.

The software firm will help manage more than 40 Olympic venues across Los Angeles and Southern California in 2028.

LA28 is using a fund of more than US$1 billion for temporary overlay and construction.
