Zeng Guang’an, the long-standing chairman and CEO of Chinese manufacturer LiuGong, has retired. He will remain a senior consultant to the company under his successor as chairman, Zheng Jin, another LiuGong veteran, and new president Luo Guobing.

The changes to LiuGong’s board were confirmed at the company’s annual general meeting (AGM) on 20 May.

Over the past 20 years Mr Zeng has become a well-known figure in the construction equipment industry, leading LiuGong to its current position as the world’s 19th largest construction equipment supplier by revenue and the fourth biggest in China.

Born in Xinhua, Hunan Province, in 1965, he joined LiuGong in 1985 as an engineer. From 1992 to 1995 he served as deputy director of the office of the chief engineer and in 1995 became vice president before being promoted to president in 1999. He has served as the seventh chairman of LiuGong since January 2014.

LiuGong’s new chairman, Zheng Jin, is also a veteran LiuGong employee. Aged 57, he joined the OEM in July 1989 and held posts including assistant engineer, deputy factory director, head of manufacturing, vice chairman and deputy general manager. Since December 2020 he has been party secretary of LiuGong Group.
