JV wins Asian Beach Games contract

India's Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Oman's Zubair Corporation have won a joint venture IND 1198 Crore (US$ 245 million) construction contract for the 2nd Asian Beach Games, which will be held in Muscat, Oman in 2010.

The project includes construction of a hotel, marine apartments, administrative offices, an athletes' village, mosque and underground cabling.

Engineering, cost and project management consultants for the project are W.S. Atkins, NWS International and Faithful+Gould.

Mott MacDonald is the consultant for the underground cabling works.
