Isolux Corsán awarded US$ 237 million India contracts

Contractor Isolux Corsán has been awarded six new contracts with a total value of € 175 million (US$ 237 million) for infrastructure projects in India.

Work includes a € 36.5 million (US$ 49.5 million) contract to enlarge and improve 88 km of roads in Odisha State, between the communities of Chandbali, Bhadrak and Anadpuren.

Meanwhile, the company has been awarded three contracts for the improvement of the Delhi Metro.

Isolux Corsán will work in a joint venture with Sadbhav Engineering India on two contracts worth € 70 million (US$ 95 million) which include the construction of two viaducts and seven stations for the metro system.

For the third € 26 million (US$ 35 million) Delhi Metro contract, the company has formed a joint venture with Sterling and Wilson India to improve electromechanical facilities on Line 4 of the network.

Separately, the company has been awarded two electricity transmission and distribution contracts worth € 42 million (US$ 56 million) in Madhya Pradesh State and in Haryana state.

Isolux Corsán said India was one of the most important markets in Asia for the group. It said it currently had 700 km of motorways under concession and construction in the country, as well as 1,600 km of power transmission lines.
