Hill International has won the contract to project manage the construction of the VistaCana Resort and Country Club, in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The company's contract is valued at US$ 45 million, while the budget for Phase 1 of the development is put at US$ 1.2 billion. The client for the scheme is Grupo Angulo Abierto Internacional (AAI).

The 1400 acre (5.67 km2) VistaCana resort will be located 10 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport and will be built in several phases. The first phase will involve the construction of 1366 single family, assisted living and multi-family residences, as well as a 40 acre (16.2 ha) artificial lake with beach, recreation areas and two island venues consisting of a luxury spa and a recreational island.

Future phases - seven are planned in total - will include a 27-hole golf course, two clubhouse/community centres, two hotels, more residences, trails and an equestrian centre. The total construction cost is estimated at US$ 6.0 billion, and it is expected to take ten years.

Hill senior vice president Stuart S. Richter said, "We are very excited to work with a development partner like AAI in creating an outstanding new community in the Dominican Republic. Over the next 10 years, this resort will be one of the most exciting projects developed in the Caribbean."
