Herreros Arquitectos has won the competition to redesign the ‘Munch Area' of Oslo, named after the artist Edvard Munch. The plans around the city's Bjorvika neighbourhood include a museum to house works by Munch, and will fit in around the newly completed opera house.

The company's "Lambda" proposal was praised by the jury, which said the museum building was, "Elegant and emblematic in its simplicity." Completion of the scheme is expected in 2013.
