Green light for €775 million UK Airport City scheme

UK airport operator The Manchester Airports Group (MAG) has launched the tender process for a £650 million (€775 million) business park around Manchester airport.

The Airport City project is planned to involve the redevelopment of a 26.3ha site to the north of Manchester Airport’s terminals and railway station. Currently a mix of scrubland and temporary airport car parking, the site is bordered by the M56 road and Woodhouse Park area of Wythenshawe.

The redevelopment would include the construction of 111,000m² of offices, 49,239m² of manufacturing space, 5760m² of retail space, 1,300 hotel beds, a 5.26ha park, a multi-storey car park and a bridge across the M56.

MAG said it was seeking one or more joint venture co-investment and development partner(s) for the project.
