European International Contractors elects new president

The General Assembly of European International Contractors (EIC) unanimously elected Gustavo Martínez as the new President, succeeding Benoît Chauvin.

Matteo d’Aloja from Italy will serve as the new vice president of the EIC.

Gustavo Martínez is the commercial director and head of digitalisation and documentation in the bidding and contracting department at Ferrovial Construction.

Since October 2022, he has also served as the managing director of International Subsidiaries at Ferrovial Construcción SA and as a board member of Ferrovial Construction International SE in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Having joined Ferrovial in 2000, Martínez has played a role in the company’s international business development and commercial activities across various markets, including the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, Poland, and multiple regions in Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Additionally, he oversees all digital tools developed for the bidding and contracting process.

Martínez is the second Spanish president in the history of EIC and he succeeds Benoît Chauvin from France who retired in accordance with the EIC Statutes after fulfilling a full 5-year mandate.
