Electronically-controlled engines the focus for Kubota
13 October 2022
Kubota Engine is to unveil two new engines for its electronically-controlled line up below 19 kW at Bauma 2022. The new engines are branded D902-K and TVCR.
The new D902-K is a 0.898-litre three-cylinder, water-cooled, four-cycle diesel engine in a vertical configuration. Weighing 72 kg, power output is between 13.4 and 18.5 kW, while torque ranges from 55.2 to 56.1 Nm.
The engine delivers ‘smokeless’ operation and lower emissions due to reduced fuel consumption. The engine meets EPA Tier 4, EU Stage 5 and China 4 (and Cat 3, China’s most stringent regulations).
The TCVR engine is a 1.123-litre model weighing 93 kg. Power output is 18.5 kW and torque is 72.4 Nm. Key features include a larger oil pan, which extends service intervals and reduces maintenance costs.
As the engines are electronically controlled, they can communicate using CAN, allowing remote performance monitoring.
