Eiffage aims to stay ahead in energy transition race with acquisition of Dutch firm
04 December 2023
French construction giant Eiffage has bought a Dutch company specialising in security installations, IT networks and industrial automation.
Eiffage said the move to buy Ven den Pol Elektrotechniek would establish it as a “key player” in the energy sector in the Netherlands, following four other acquisitions in the country this year: Gain Automation, VSK Kastenbouw, Safety Service and Klimatro Beheer.
Van den Pol Elektrotechniek, which Eiffage has bought through its Dutch subsidiary Eiffage Énergie Systèmes, will add to Eiffage’s capabilities in the industrial, office buildings and commercial markets.
The deal is subject to approval from the European competition authorities and is set for completion in early 2024.
Founded in 1935, Van den Pol Elektrotechniek had €75 million of revenue and 250 employees in 2022.
Eiffage said that consolidating the expertise in electricity and ICT of Eiffage Énergie Systèmes in the Netherlands was “critical” for meeting the growing demand induced by the energy transition, and also enabled the strengthening of its ability to offer digital solutions to support its customers’ industrial processes.
