D&Ri is proud to announce Henrik Bonnesen, Project Director at Danish consultancy COWI, as a speaker at this year’s World Demolition Summit, which will take place in Stockholm, Sweden, on the 6 and 7 of November.

With more than 25 years’ experience as a consultant within the field of environment and handling demolition projects, Henrik has extensive experience related to building contamination and the handling of demolition materials.

His experience ranges from mapping building contamination and preparing tenders for remediation, to developing strategies for the reuse of materials and devising methods for carrying out demolition works.

Henrik holds a masters degree in environmental science and has extensive experience in managing major, complex projects, addressing  environmental issues and coordinating with multiple high-level stakeholders.

An expert in environmental remediation and demolition, Henrik has served as a special inspector for the Danish Demolition Association since 2004.

During his career at COWI, Henrik has been involved in numerous international projects.

The most notable of which saw him serve as the head of the company’s environmental department for the design of two international airports in Oman, where he was stationed for four years (from 2008 to 2012) to complete the project.

In 2009, Henrik was appointed by D&Ri as a judge for the World Demolition Awards. Part of the original team that helped to take the awards from strength to strength, his dedication to raising industry standards has long been respected.

Leila Steed, Programme Director for the World Demolition Summit, said: “I remember the very first time I spoke to Henrik.

“It was via a Teams call, and what struck me most was his enthusiasm and passion for the work. Every sentence he spoke was so inspiring that it motivated me to dive into things.

“It is quite literally impossible to have a conversation with him and not learn something valuable. That’s one of the many reasons why he is one of our longest-serving awards judges.

“I’m absolutely over the moon to have him and Jan Rohde, Director and Founder of GreenDozer, as joint speakers for WDS Stockholm.”
