Contractor appointed to build section of Poland’s new 87km-long expressway

Spain-based infrastructure company Acciona has won a deal to build a section of the new S8 expressway between Wrocław and Kłodzko.

Poland’s Directorate General for National Roads and Highways has awarded Acciona subsidiary Mostostal Warszawa the contract for the 7.9km section between Niemcza and Ząbkowice Śląskie.

The S8 highway between Wrocław and Kłodzko, runs for a total of 87 km along the western fringe of the country. The contract is worth PLN 305.7 million (€71.3 million).

Acciona has been present in Poland since 1999 through Mostostal Warszawa, one of the country’s largest construction companies, in which it holds a 62.13% stake.
