Construction to start on 14-storey tower in Warsaw

Skanska's Studio office Skanska will start the Studio complex project’s construction phase in September 2021.

Skanska has invested SEK700 million (€69 million) in the first phase of a new 14-storey high office tower in Warsaw, Poland.

The Swedish construction and project development company announced that construction of the new high-rise building, which will form part of the new office complex, known as ‘Studio’, will begin next month.

While completion of the entire Studio complex project will eventually see the creation of 43,000m2 of leasable office space, Skanska said this first office tower would contribute 17,600m2 to the total.

One of a number of projects being carried out by Skanska in Poland, the Studio complex comprises two buildings and an underground parking facility.

According to the company, which recently won a €330 million tunnel contract in Norway, construction of the complex will create a new open space, featuring a large green square as a landmark, in the Wola district of Warsaw.

Skanska said, “Studio is expected to receive several certifications awarded to futureproof, safe and top-quality office spaces supporting people’s health and wellbeing as well as climate targets; LEED Platinum, WELL Core & Shell, WELL Health & Safety Rating and Building without Barriers.”

With construction of the first Studio building starting in September 2021, the entire project is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2023.

The Studio project is one of several projects being carried by Skanska in Poland - it was recently announced that Skanska has invested SEK480 million (€47 million) in Warsaw’s new 13-storey high Centrum Południe office building.
